Merit List and Qualifying Criteria:

Qualifying Criteria:

The National Testing Agency will prepare an All India Merit List of successful candidates of NEET (UG) – 2021 on the basis of the eligibility criteria.

The eligibility criteria are as follows:

a) In order to be eligible for admission it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum specified percentile in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) to Undergraduate Medical Courses held for the said academic year as under

The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in the All India common merit list in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses.

b) Provided when sufficient number of candidates in the respective categories fail to secure minimum marks as prescribed in NEET (UG) – 2021, may at its discretion lower the minimum marks required for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses for candidates belonging to respective categories and marks so lowered by the Central Government shall be applicable for the said academic year only.

c) To be eligible for admission to the Undergraduate Medical Courses, a candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology at the Qualifying Examination.

In respect of the candidates belonging to the SC, ST and OBC-NCL category, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology taken in qualifying examination and competitive examination (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) must be 40% marks instead of 50%.

In respect of candidates with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD) the minimum marks in qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together must be 45% instead of 50% for Unreserved category & GEN-EWS candidates and 40% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates.

d) Provided that a candidate who has appeared in the qualifying examination, the result of which has not been declared, he may be provisionally permitted to take up the competitive entrance examination and in case of selection for admission to the Undergraduate Medical Courses, he/she shall not be admitted to that course until he/she fulfils the eligibility criteria as specified above.

“A list of the successful candidates in order of All India Rank based on the marks obtained in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG – 2021 will be prepared by the NTA.”

 

The inter-se-merit of candidates for “tie-breaking”:

In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks/percentile score in the NEET (UG) - 2021, the inter-se-merit shall be resolute as follows:

a) Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test, followed by,

b) Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Chemistry in the Test, followed by,

c) Candidate with less proportion of number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the Test, followed by,

d) Candidate older in age.

 

Merit list for counselling under 15% All India Quota:

The merit list of the eligible and successful candidates who have opted for 15% All India quota seats will be prepared by the NTA on the basis of marks scored in the NEET (UG) – 2020, for the purpose of allotment of seats by Online Counselling to 15% All India Quota Seats.

Merit list for seats other than 15% All India Quota:

a) NTA will provide All India Rank and Result will be shared with the DGHS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India and Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India to provide the same to the Admitting Authorities.

b) Admitting Authorities will invite applications for Counselling at their end.

c) The admitting/counselling authorities will draw a merit list of the candidates based on All India Rank in the respective categories declared by the candidates at the time of applying for admission/counselling as per State applicable rules.
