What is National Testing Agency (NTA):
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI), has established National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization.
The objectives of NTA include:
(i) To conduct efficient, transparent and international standard entrance tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission.
(ii) To undertake research on educational, professional and testing system to identify gaps in the knowledge systems and take necessary steps for bridging them.
(iii) To produce and spread information and research on education and professional development standards in India.
(iv) NTA conduct top entrance exams like NEET, JEE etc.
