About VITEEE 2020

VITEEE is a university-level engineering entrance exam conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology for admission to B.Tech and B.Des program offered at VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT Bhopal and VIT-AP.

VIT university has released application form to apply for VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) in both online (vit.ac.in and viteee.vit.ac.in) and offline modes. Candidates can apply until February 29, 2020 via both the modes.

The exam is held at all India level in 124 cities and is open for 10+2 appearing / passed out candidates who fulfill eligibility criteria. In VITEEE 2020, there are 10 questions of Aptitude in the exam, along with 40 MCQs on Maths / Bio, 35 each on Physics and Chemistry, and 5 on English.

VITEEE is an entrance exam of one of the best private institute of India. Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is one of the most popular choices among the engineering students, and thus VITEEE witnesses around 3 lakh registrations every year.

VITEEE examination pattern in detail:

The exam will only be held in online mode. The VITEEE exam will comprise a of 125 objective-type questions (MCQ) for total 125 marks. Candidates are awarded 1 mark for each right response and there is no provision for negative marking. The exam will be held in three different slots i.e. Morning session, afternoon, and Evening session. Questions in VITEEE 2020 exam will be based on five subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, Aptitude, and English.

Eligibility Criteria VITEEE 2020

Nationality:

  • The applicant for admission should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National / PIO.
  • Foreign Candidates studied/studying abroad can apply directly through foreign category only. A separate application form is made available. Kindly check our website for details

Age Limit:

  • Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1998 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2020. The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic. Candidates should produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age at the time of counselling, failing for which they will be disqualified.

Qualifying Examination:

Candidates appearing for the VITEEE-2020 should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2020, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:

  • The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi.
  • Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  • As per VIT Norms, Regular 'NIOS' board candidates are also eligible for VITEEE. They should produce the Migration Cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining.

Eligibility Criteria for The Qualifying Examination:

  • Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2020 should have secured minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
  • The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be minimum aggregate of 50% for the following categories:
    • Candidates belonging to SC/ST
    • Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. CERTIFICATE TO PROVE COMMUNITY / NATIVITY should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.

  • Candidates who have opted for MPCEA (Maths / Physics/ Chemistry / English / Aptitude) in VITEEE 2020 are eligible for all the B.Tech. Programmes.
  • Candidates who have opted for BPCEA (Biology / Physics/ Chemistry / English / Aptitude) in VITEEE 2020 are eligible for the following Bio stream programmes only. But after joining, registering Mathematics as bridge course is mandatory.

VITEEE Application Form 2020:

A candidate who interested for VITEEE 2020 can apply through either Online mode or Offline mode. The online application forms for VITEEE will be available at official website http//vit.ac.in. The offline application form can be collected from VIT campuses and selected post offices.

VITEEE Registration 2020 – Online Mode:

Candidates can download the online application form by visiting the official website of VIT University. VITEEE Application Form 2020 should be filled and submitted on the website only. Online Registration includes the following steps

  • Valid e-mail address and active mobile number.
  • Valid Net Banking Account/ Credit/ Debit Card or Paytm Account.
  • Scanned files (.jpg format) of your photo (3.5 cm width x 4.5 cm height; 10-200 kB size) and signature (3.5 cm width x 1.5 cm height; 10-200 kB size)
  • The cost of the online application is Rs.1,150 when paid through web browser, but when paid through VITEEE App, the cost of the application is Rs.1,050 only.
  • Applicants opting test centres located in foreign countries must pay 50 USD (excluding bank charges).
  • Enter all the relevant details carefully.
  • An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number (For Indians) for verification.
  • Once OTP is validated, a password will be sent to your registered email address.

VITEEE Slot Booking and Examination Center

VITEEE is held over a period of several days and slots. A candidate can choose the day of examination and the slot according to his/her convenience. VIT opens Online Test Booking System (OTBS) for slot booking. The option for selecting VITEEE 2020 exam center will be available during the slot booking process in the month of March 2020.

To book your Exam Centre and slot:

  • Visit the official website of VIT i.e. vit.ac.in and login,
  • Click on “Book a seat”,
  • Select your preferred State and City for the test,
  • Select the test center and time slot for VITEEE 2020,
  • Click on “Book” to confirm your slot booking.

Note:

  •  Slot booking is done on the basis of first come first allot. 
  • The VITEEE OTBS 2020 will be a real time application. The booking window for slot booking will be open only for one minute. Candidates have to fill in all the particulars in that particular time period only. 
  • Candidates can select the slot only one time. No further changes can be made.
