Q: What is the advertisement schedule for AFCAT? When is the AFCAT conducted?

A: AFCAT is conducted twice a year (in the month of February and August). The advertisement for the same is published in the months of June and December respectively.

 

Q: What is the scheme and syllabus for AFCAT exam?

A: AFCAT is an objective test. The exam is of two hours and consists of

100 questions. The scheme of syllabus contains General Awareness, English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning & Military Aptitude.

 

Q: Where can I register for the AFCAT online?

A: You have to register for AFCAT on the website https://careerindianairforce.cdac.in or https://afcat.cdac.in Please note that registration is being done through these two websites only. Do not register for AFCAT on any other website.

 

Q: I have completed my Class XII exam. Am I eligible for AFCAT?

A: No. Minimum qualification required for AFCAT is graduation/ postgraduation (Masters) (depending on the branch you are applying for). There is also a minimum requirement of marks in graduation / post-graduation.

 

Q: Is permanent Commission offered for Flying Branch through AFCAT?

A: No, only Short Service Commission is offered for Flying Branch through AFCAT.

 

Q: Whether women candidates are eligible to become officers through AFCAT?

A: Yes, women candidates are eligible to become officers through AFCAT. However, they are eligible only for Short Service commission(SSC), and not for Permanent Commission(PC).

 

Q: I have registered online on the website https://careerindianairforce.cdac.in for AFCAT. However, I have not received any password. What should I do?

A: The password is sent to the email address through which you have registered. If you do not receive your password, you may also use “Forgot Password Option” to receive a new password. However, candidates must note that they have to enter their email address correctly. Email address should be a valid one and in use.

 

Q: I have entered wrong DoB / entered ‘Male’ instead of ‘Female’ in the column of gender at the time of registration. How do I correct it?

A: Please ensure correctness of personal details i.e. NAME, DoB and GENDER before proceeding further as it cannot be changed or altered in any manner later on. In case the information is not accurate, do not submit the form. Please reregister using a different e-mail id and provide correct details. Name and DOB entered in form must be as recorded in the matriculation/secondary examination certificate.

Please note that information filled up by the candidates in online application form will be considered final and no amendments will be allowed subsequently. Candidates should exercise due care while entering their date of birth.

 

Q: Do I need to send any documents / self-addressed envelope to AFCAT Cell for Admit Card etc?

A: No. There is no requirement of sending anything by post to AFCAT Cell. Applications are online only.

 

Q: I have a degree from a foreign university. Am I eligible?

A: For being eligible for AFCAT, the degree must be recognised by UGC / AICTE / Ministry of HRD / DEC.

 

Q:I have filled all columns, yet I am unable to proceed to the next part during filling up of the form.

A: You would have entered certain information which may not be in consonance with the eligibility criteria

 

Q: Do I write the marks in decimal form or only in two digits?

A: Even if the percentage of marks is entered in decimals, it will be rounded off to the lower whole number E.g. 59.9% will be treated as 59%.
