NDA/NA Written Exam pattern

NDA/NA Written Exam pattern:

Candidates who will appear in the NDA examination should check the exam pattern for better preparations. The detailed NDA/NA exam pattern is mentioned below:

•        Type of Questions: There will be objective type questions (MCQ) asked in the examination.

•        Pattern: The question paper will be asked in the OMR pattern.

•        Mode: The exam will be conducted in pen and paper-based mode.

•        Answering Mode: Candidates will use black ball pen to mark their answers. Do not use any Ink pen or pencil.

•        Duration: Two and half hours will be given for each code, i.e. Code 1 (mathematics-MAT) and Code 2 (general ability test-GAT).

•        Language: The medium of the exam will be set bilingually in English as well as Hindi.

NDA Intelligence and Personality Test

NDA Intelligence and Personality Test:

The SSB procedure consists of two stage Selection process - stage I and stage II. Only those candidates who clear the stage I are permitted to appear for stage II. The details are:

(a) Stage I comprises of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT). The candidates will be shortlisted based on combination of performance in OIR Test and PP&DT.

(b) Stage II Comprises of Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. The personality of a candidate is assessed by three different assessors viz. The Interviewing Officer (IO), Group Testing Officer (GTO) and the Psychologist.

Note: The details of these tests are given on the website joinindianarmy.nic.in.

There is no separate weightage for each test. The marks are allotted by assessors only after taking into consideration the performance of the candidate holistically in all the test. In addition, marks for Conference are also allotted based on the initial performance of the Candidate in the three techniques and decision of the Board. All these have equal weightage.

The various tests of IO, GTO and Psych are designed to bring out the presence/absence of Officer Like Qualities and their trainability in a candidate. Accordingly, candidates are Recommended or Not Recommended at the SSB.

NDA Cut-off marks

NDA Cut-off marks

NDA cut-off is released by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) after the completion of the recruitment process. The cut-off is made available for written exam and final selection. To shortlisted for Army/Navy/Naval Academy and Air Force, candidates should secure NDA cut-off separately for written examination and SSB Interview.

How is NDA Cut-off calculated?

NDA cut-off is calculated based on the following factors –

-Number of test takers

-Total vacancies

-Exam difficulty

About NDA Cut-off:

•        First of all, the candidates need to know the exact definition of the cut-off. It is basically termed as the minimum qualifying marks which the candidates will have to get so as to join the next level of selection.

•        Cut-marks will be given out of total marks i.e. 900 marks.

•        There will be a sectional cut-off, means one needs to secure minimum sectional cut-off marks, which will be about 20% - 35 %(approx.) in each paper.

•        Only those students who score more than or up to the NDA Cut-off (in written Exam) are eligible for the SSB interview.

•        SSB interview will be of total 900 marks, the final marks would be the combination of written and SSB interview marks i.e. total 1800 marks.

•        Final NDA cut-off marks will be published after the SSB interview, candidates will get the joining instructions based on their order in the merit list.

After you have read each item in the Test Booklet and decided which one of the given responses is correct or the best.
